Pastoral Care Team

Mandate

As it is important that our 'family members' are remembered by the church family with love, our mandate is to undertake the Ministry of Presence to those in need of healing, compassion and understanding.

Volunteer Activities

As members of the clergy and members of the laity our shared ministry includes engaging in one-on-one visits to the sick, elderly or disabled in their home, in hospital, in nursing homes, or in a hospice as circumstances dictate. Offering of prayer, reading of scripture, and especially listening to their desires and concerns are all a part of a Pastoral Care visit.

Additionally, we are available to provide transport for those in need to the 'Seniors' Tea' on the third Wednesday of each month, as well the Sunday services.

Time Requirement

One cannot estimate the time requirement over a period of time, but a visit can last up to an hour. One should not out stay one's welcome!

Special Skills Required

Listening skills, a nonjudgmental compassionate nature, emotional and spiritual maturity, and self confidence.

Accountability:

The Team is accountable to Fr. Leighton Lee
