Choir Fundraiser: Bottle/Beverage Container Recycling

The Choir of the Cathedral Choir of the Redeemer has registered with the Vecova not-for-profit bottle depot in Northwest Calgary in support of the Cathedral Church of the Redeemer’s music activities. Deposits paid on beverage containers that are returned to Vecova will be paid to the choir’s account. Participation is easy, in the following three ways:

1. On Sunday mornings, bring your recyclable beverage containers in sturdy plastic bags or cardboard boxes to the Cathedral and leave them in the blue recycle box located in the north vestibule (by the accessible washroom). Please note: for reasons of security and hygiene, the recycle box will only be available on Sundays. Please do not leave beverage containers during the week.

2. A choir member can collect beverage containers directly from your home. Please make arrangements by contacting Sheila or Gordon Cook at

Please note that if you contact Vecova directly to arrange bottle collection (which is a service they offer), your deposits will not be credited to the choir. Please arrange collection only through Sheila or Gordon as stated above.

3. Take your recyclable beverage containers directly to the Vecova Bottle Recycling at 3304 - 33 St NW, stating the account name “Cathedral Church of the Redeemer.”

There are many churches and many choirs registered with Vecova, so to ensure proper crediting to the Cathedral Choir account, please see the detailed instructions regarding returning your containers directly to Vecova on the noticeboard in the south vestibule at the cathedral. Alternatively, you may email the Director of Music for a copy of the instructions at:

If you have any questions, please see a choir member during coffee hour on Sundays after the 10.30am service.

Thank you in advance for your support!
