Parish business and decision-making at the Cathedral is conducted by the Parish Corporation, which consists of the Dean, two Wardens, and their Assistant Wardens, who are all members of the Cathedral congregation. Wardens are appointed for two-year terms.
Ben has worked for Scotiabank since moving to Calgary in 2010, presently in Investment Lending. He has been a member of the Cathedral Choir for six years and a Parish Council Member for two years prior to taking on his role as Warden this year.
In his spare time, Ben enjoys travel, literature, and volunteering with a number of local causes.
Philippa had an active musical career as principal flute of the Calgary Philharmonic Orchestra from 1971 until 2005, and was also an instructor of flute at the University of Calgary.
In retirement, she enjoys singing in the Cathedral choir, playing bridge, quilting, and above all, spending time with her six grandchildren.
Assistant People's Warden
Gordon is from Saskatchewan, raised on a farm northeast of Lloydminster. He worked as a forest ranger from 1975 to 1980, and then at Imperial Oil from 1980 to 2010.
Gordon has played hockey most of his life; his greatest pleasure is playing with his sons at the annual Forestry Tournament and spending time with his two grand daughters in Peace River.
