Cathedral Choir

The current choir is a mixed-voice ensemble of men and women which, in the late 1990s, replaced the esteemed choir of men and boys. The choir not only maintains a large repertoire of choral masses and anthems, but is always expanding its repertoire. Although the choir is primarily a volunteer organization, each section is led by one or two professional section leads. New members are always welcome. Pervious choral experience and an ability to read music are essential. To speak to the Director of Music about joining the choir, please call the Cathedral office.

At the 10:30 Solemn Eucharist on principal feasts the choir sings a fully choral mass and substantial anthem as well the plainsong propers of the day. On other Sundays, the choir leads the congregation in a congregational mass setting and sings the psalm as well as an anthem and motet. Selections from the organ's vast repertoire are offered before and after each service.
